Skyborne Airline Academy has announced it has been selected as the UK trainer partner for Ryanair’s Future Flyer Academy programme, delivering both UK CAA and EASA licence training. Trainees on the Ryanair Future Flyer programme will receive a conditional job offer upon enrolment and complete their Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) with Skyborne. They will then join Ryanair as second officers on the airline’s Boeing 737 fleet, one of the largest in the world. The cost of the programme is £131,400, payable in six tranches over a twelve-month period.
Lee Woodward, Skyborne’s Chief Executive Officer, commented, “having secured EASA approval to support this initiative, this is the first time Skyborne is offering UK trainees the opportunity to gain a dual UK CAA and EASA licence. This collaboration underscores the growing demand for streamlined pathways to the flight deck” he said, adding that Skyborne’s airline cadet programmes consistently produce highly skilled and well-prepared individuals.
Skyborne commented that the programme will be available to trainees based at the academy’s facilities in the UK and at Vero Beach, Florida, in the US. The academy added that on completion of training, graduates will be guaranteed a final assessment with the airline and will be given preference during initial selection. Once recruited, graduates will also be eligible for a bonded B737 type rating with no up-front cost.
