ABOVE: The airport has had five new senior appointments since Autumn 2023
A new leadership team is in place at Gloucestershire (Staverton) airport to ‘explore current and future opportunities to maximise the potential of the airport’ two months after its sale was announced.
Cheltenham Borough and Gloucester City Councils confirmed they were seeking new investors for the airport, which is jointly owned by both authorities, back in November. However, the councils say they intend to sell the venture as ‘an operational airport, with measures in place to try and secure its future as a viable business for the area’.
Airport Director Jason Ivey described his new senior leadership team as set to play “a key role” in the upcoming sale of the airport, “as well as its development in the short to medium term whilst the sale is progressed”. He added that “they understand that we are prioritising making the airport a commercially and vibrant aviation hub”.
“If we stood still and waited for the sale to happen we would be going backwards and this wouldn’t benefit either the airport, our tenants, or future investors,” added Ivey.
Helen Webb has been appointed as Head of Business Development and Marketing, Lisa Milden as Head of People, and Chris Brian as Head of Air Traffic. They join Brian Rawlings as Head of Operations and Angela Madigan as Head of Finance, who both joined the airport in the Autumn.
