The Airline Flight Academy (AFA) is launching a new dual EASA and UK CAA approved Airline Pilot Standards Multi-Crew Cooperation course (APS MCC), which is designed for aspiring airline pilots who hold or are pursuing dual licences. This new training pathway is designed to offer trainee pilots greater flexibility in Europe’s competitive airline market by affording graduates the opportunity to apply to both EU and UK carriers.
The first course commenced on 24 November 2025 at AFA’s training centre in Dublin. The dual APS MCC course will be delivered by the academy’s team of airline-experienced instructors using a suite of Boeing 737-800 Flight Training Devices. The course is structured to provide a smooth transition from light piston-engine aircraft flying to airliner flight deck operations.
The APS MCC is the final stage of pilot training before airline selection, focusing on advanced multi-crew operations, decision-making, and airline-standard procedures. With AFA’s strong partnership with Ryanair, graduates benefit from direct exposure to the airline’s operational philosophy and training standards.
