ABOVE: Production AirCars will be powered by a 280hp engine
Slovakia-based Klein Vision has unveiled the first production version of its AirCar flying car. Inventor Stefan Klein showcased the machine at the Legends of Aviation Gala Dinner, where he received a Special Recognition Award for Engineering Excellence. The AirCar, holding a Certificate of Airworthiness in Slovakia, has logged over 170 hours of flight and more than 500 takeoffs and landings. It features a 280hp engine and can automatically transform from car to aircraft in under two minutes, according to the company.
