Upset prevention and recovery specialists Ultimate High will be holding the company’s first safety forum at Goodwood Aerodrome on Sunday 17 May. The event will open at 0900 and will be held in the Supershell Building on the north-east corner of the aerodrome.
Planned in conjunction with Goodwood Aviation, Lycoming, Nicholson McLaren & Lightspeed, the forum, which Ultimate High hopes to make an annual event, will include ground-based safety presentations on several subjects which should be of interest to all aviators, including an examination of the ‘startle’ factor in aircraft accidents, avoiding and recovering from upsets, and military/civil deconfliction in Class G. Other topics include successful forced landings, maximising engine life, how to handle hot starts, and managing EFATOs and partial power failures.
Attendance (and even lunch!) is free, but pre-registration is required as the event is limited to 100 places. There will also be the option of a UPRT taster flight (for only £250, which must be pre-booked) and a prize draw for a Lightspeed ANR headset. If you want to fly in, Goodwood is halving landing fees for attendees.
Proceeds and donations will support the Rob Wildeboer Flying Scholarship.
