ABOVE: More than 6,000 Barons have been delivered globally
After eighty years of Barons and Bonanzas, Textron Aviation has announced it will end production of the Beechcraft Baron G58 and Beechcraft Bonanza G36 models once all current orders are fulfilled. Known for their power and craftsmanship, the Baron and Bonanza aircraft have been cornerstones of the company’s piston product line for nearly eight decades. More than 6,000 Baron and 18,000 Bonanza aircraft have been delivered worldwide.
Textron Aviation will now focus on the Beechcraft Denali turboprop. However, Avbrief said that Textron will continue to make parts and provide support for thousands of Bonanzas and Barons still flying in the wake of the company’s decision to discontinue making the iconic piston aircraft. According to the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), Textron delivered five Bonanza and two Baron aircraft in all of 2024 and just four Bonanza and two Baron aircraft in the first half of 2025. To date, Beech has produced a staggering 26,165 Bonanza-family aeroplanes, including 1,297 Debonair and 720 Travel Air aircraft.
