Blackbushe Airport has won a long-running case to deregister part of the aerodrome. After the Planning Inspectorate decided in favour of the proposal, the operators of the airfield said: “This decision ends six decades of uncertainty regarding Blackbushe Airport’s future. The move paves the way for significant aviation development, addressing the need for substantial investment.”
The current owners, led by Sir John Ogden, who acquired the airport in 2015, aim to establish it as a General Aviation centre of excellence. With the approval, plans will focus on rationalising the airport layout, including hangarage and other essential facilities. Further details are expected to be shared in the coming months.
