Congratulations to legendary aviator and past Lasham Gliding Society Chairman Roy Cross, who celebrated his 100th birthday on Friday 23 May with a flight in a Slingsby T-21. The T-21 was flown from Shalbourne GC by Ken Reid, who had been visiting Lasham for the Gliding Heritage Centre’s (GHC) flying week. As the T-21 soared gracefully over the launch point, GHC’s Gary Pullen laughingly pointed out that the combined age of pilots and aircraft totalled an impressive 240 years!
