Germany’s MT-Propeller has been flight-testing what it claims to be the world’s first nine-blade propeller

It is designed for use on piston-engined, turboprop and electric-powered aircraft with maximum true airspeeds up to 430kt, and promises ‘significantly’ lower fuel consumption and a reduced noise footprint.

‘Flying a jet-comfort airplane powered with props, combined with the lowest fuel consumption, becomes a near future,’ the company says.
