German eVTOL developer Volocopter introduced its new VoloXPro electric ultralight multicopter at AERO (see our photo report in the June 2026 issue of the magazine). The aircraft is targeted at European flight training schools and the electric air taxi market.
The VoloXPro, developed in Bruchsal, Baden-Württemberg, is designed as a versatile platform: it could be used by multiple user groups, including flight schools, flying clubs, air sports enthusiasts, and sightseeing operators. Certification as an ultralight aircraft is planned in Germany by the end of this year, with parallel approval efforts underway across other European countries as the company expands (in Europe ultralight certification is delegated by EASA to the authorities of each nation).
Described as a ‘fully electric, emission-neutral multicopter engineered for low-noise operations’, it is intended to be suitable for both recreational flying and commercial passenger transport. The modular platform will allow different technical configurations tailored to different customer needs.
