ILAFFT has long been a ‘must read first’ feature in Pilot magazine, so it was no surprise when the Vintage Aircraft Club decided to try an informal forum for pilots that there was a very positive response
The VAC invited Air Vice Marshal Lindsay Irvine to chair the event at the LAA HQ in Turweston in December and twenty pilots with a broad range of experience in flying many aircraft types, from the 787 to Tiger Moths and Chipmunks, arrived to share their stories.
From prop-swing near disasters to coping with the distraction of over enthusiastic passengers, and with a little help of the Christmassy chocolate bribes the AVM brought along, the group were keen to participate and many valuable lessons were learned as a result.
This is the second time this forum has been included on the VAC Events Calendar and doubtless it will not be the last!
