The Royal Institute of Navigation is challenging teams of aviators to put their flight planning, map reading and dead reckoning skills to the test in its annual TopNav competition.

TopNav is open to all types — including microlights, helicopters, autogyros and SLMG/TMGs — that can accomodate the minimum two crew members required. Lunch and refreshments are included and landing fees are waived.

The courses used are designed to take about 100 minutes to complete. The competition will take place at Retford on 11 May, and White Waltham on 18 May. For more information visit rin.org.uk/general.aspx?ID=365
