ABOVE: Air racing at Reno will end this year, but the organisers are looking for alternative venues for the event
The world-famous Reno Air Races will be held for the last time this September, after the Reno Tahoe Airport Authority made the decision to ‘sunset’ the event. The National Championship Air Races at Reno have been running for almost sixty years, drawing large crowds and significant interest even from beyond the world of aviation.
The organisers, however, said that they “are committed to finding a new location so that the event can continue,” adding they “are currently exploring several other possible locations to host the event in the future” and that they want to make “this year’s event the biggest and most successful it can be”.
