At least 23 pedal-powered aircraft will be appearing at Brooklands Museum on October 15
With only a few days to go to the Aviation Day at the Brooklands Museum on Sunday October 15 and with warm sunshine in prospect, the LAA Youth & Education Support (YES) team has confirmed it will be gathering at least 23 pedal-powered aircraft at the famed former motor racing circuit and aerodrome.
‘We now have three pedal planes from YES, four from the Brooklands Museum, eleven from the Joystick Club at White Waltham and five from Stow Maries Aerodrome and from a school in Essex,’ says Andre Faehndrich of YES.
‘Thanks a million for everyone’s help in achieving this lofty ambition to create a new world record… I will also be bringing along materials for stomp rockets and the high-light for YES: our Build-a-Plane 7 project – a three-quarter size Fokker Eindecker from Saint Ronans Primary School in Hawkhurst, Kent.
‘The workmanship on this build is astounding, and it will be almost a shame to cover the aircraft up, to complete it.
‘We are looking forward to seeing everyone on Sunday and another terrific Aviation Day at Brooklands Museum.’
