Shuttleworth has announced that landing fees for pilots visiting the airfield are being withdrawn from 1 January 2015.
Shuttleworth is a unique airfield with a collection of vintage aircraft dating from 1909 to the early 1950s. The site also features a period Swiss Garden, on-site restaurant (offering free wifi), play area for children and gift shop/visitor centre.
Chief Engineer, Jean-Michel Munn said: “We are hoping that this change will benefit our regular visiting aviators who come to enjoy the facilities, as well as encouraging those who have never been to discover everything we have to offer here at Shuttleworth.”
Old Warden Aerodrome, near Biggleswade in Bedfordshire, is a grass airfield with an air traffic control tower that is manned only on event days. Airshows take place from May to October, and visiting pilots must PPR at all times Old Warden. Information can be found at www.shuttleworth.org
