The UK Ministry of Defence has selected Leading Edge Aviation to support a new military pilot training programme focused on multi-engine and multi-crew operations. Under the contract, Leading Edge will provide a structured training pathway for both experienced aircrew and new entrants progressing through the military pilot training curriculum.

The programme is intended to support current operational requirements within military aviation and provide scalable training capacity. Pilots will train in the company’s fleet of Diamond DA40 and DA42 aircraft, alongside simulator-based instruction. The programme will conclude with the Airline Pilot Standards Multi-Crew Cooperation (APS MCC) course, which incorporates Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA) methodologies. According to the company, the training model combines technical instruction with development in decision-making, leadership and crew resource management skills.

The contract is expected to run for an initial two-year period and support the training of up to 34 pilots, with an option for extension.
