The CAA has released a new version of its listening squawks flight card together with LARS frequencies
The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has released a new version of its listening squawks flight card showing all 23 codes, together with LARS frequencies
Listening squawk codes are allocated to most large airports and aerodromes to enable air traffic controllers to alert pilots if they look likely to infringe airspace. Pilots simply dial the code in to their transponder and listen out on the airport frequency when in the vicinity of that airport. The controller can then alert them if required.
The CAA has begun distributing copies of the card and poster to the GA community, but pilots can download their own copies from http://airspacesafety.com/listen/
A large format poster is also being made available for use by flight training facilities and flying clubs.
