The companies are developing a blade that will feature an all-carbon monocoque structure with a co-moulded electroformed nickel erosion shield.
They hope that the 110-inch diameter, four-blade propeller will maximise cruise performance while providing good low-end performance for using short runways.
Kestrel Aircraft – lead by general aviation entrepreneur Alan Klapmeier – is currently designing, and applying for FAA certification for, a six to eight seater, all-composite, single-engine turboprop.
