Helicentre Aviation is moving its ground based training to a larger facility at Leicester Airport.

For the past year Helicentre Aviation has had the ability to include EASA approved CPL(H) and ATPL(H) ground school in its professional pilot training programmes with support from Caledonian Advanced Pilot Training (CAPT). Helicentre Aviation has announced that it will be taking the ground based training to a new level with its upcoming relocation to a larger facility which is to be constructed at Leicester Airport.

“We are able to offer student pilots a ‘one-stop shop’ in Professional Pilot training” says Sarah Bowen, Managing Director. “Everything from a pilot’s first trial lesson to their commercial and flight instructor courses can be carried out in-house, including the commercial ground school.”

Classroom-based consolidation courses for the theoretical knowledge modules are already held at Leicester several times per year but will double in frequency following the move.

Helicentre Aviation is training an increasing number of international students and the additional capacity will allow for a larger number of student pilots to be catered for. This will in turn create an increased number of flight instructor positions within the company.

Two scholarships for theoretical knowledge courses totaling £3,745 in value will be awarded this September. The winners will be selected from candidates who enrol on the CPL(H) or ATPL(H) ground school courses before 31st August 2013. Any ICAO PPL(H) holder can apply by registering at http://www.flyheli.co.uk/scholarships/register
