The initial event of the Air Race World Championship, due to take place at Goodwood in July, has been cancelled. In a social media statement the organisers said: ‘There are a number of factors that have contributed to this, including significant logistics challenges that have arisen and subsequent reduced working timeframe in the lead up to the event. Whilst it’s a disappointing loss for the 2022 race calendar, we very much hope Goodwood Estate will feature as a race venue in 2023’.

The competition builds on the legacy of the famous Red Bull Air Race World Championship, which ran until 2019 and that saw a total of 94 races organised around the world.
