Glenforsa Airfield in Mull will reopen in time for Easter this year.
However, it will be subject to an inspection first.
Glenforsa was closed following an incident during September 2012. The news of its reopening comes after the airfield was discussed at an Oban, Lorn and The Isles Area Committee meeting.
