Photographer Jamie Murray and his wife Rebecca went on a Pilots Paradise Adventure Couples holiday during December 2014. They were based in a one bedroom fly-in apartment, next to the runway and went exploring Florida in Millie the PA-28 Warrior.
His Journal:
Day 1 – Great to be here, looking forward to what the adventure brings!
Day 2 – Checkout complete. Weathered in at Valkaria then a dash back to Indian River, I think that’s us for the day.
Day 3. En-route to the Space Coast Regional Airport. Fuel, coffee then back home via a low level pass of the NASA Shuttle Landing Facility.
Day 4 – Albert Whitted airfield, St Petersburg for some sun, lunch and the Dali Museum. Home for a beautiful sunset.
Day 5. Everglades Airpark – Air-boating, shrimp and home for sunset.
Day 6 & 7 Key West and home via Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale Executive Jet Centre and Fort Pierce – Credit for these two goes to the Co-Pilot!
Day 8 – Lazy Sunday. Indian River over to Naples for lunch. Sanibel Island – Okechobee and home.
Day 9 – Up to Jacksonville Cecil to visit the US Coast Guard. Great day! Back to share the field with the neighbours.
Day 10. Planning – not dreaming.
Day 11 – Early rise. St Augustine & River Ranch Lodge.
