Boeing has anticipated that it will not be long before the 787 is re-introduced.
According to Business Travel News, several layers of additional safety features are to be added to the Dreamliner’s lithium-ion batteries. These could be ready for initial installation within the next few weeks.
Last week the FAA approved Boeing’s certification plan, which details the testing that the company will carry out to demonstrate improvements to the batteries.
Commercial flights will resume once testing is complete and approval granted by regulators.
