ABOVE: The G7 variant now comes with its own mobile app

Cirrus Aircraft has unveiled what it terms the ‘newest generation of the world’s best-selling, high-performance, single-engine piston aircraft – the SR Series G7’.

“The SR Series G7 adds new avionics and autonomous interfaces coupled with all-new styling and comfort,” explained Pat Waddick, President of Innovation and Operations of Cirrus Aircraft, describing the latest model as “the culmination of seamless collaboration between customer, innovation and operations”.

Updates to the Perspective Touch+ Garmin flight deck include larger, high-resolution 12” (or optional 14”) widescreen displays, Garmin touchscreen controllers, and CAS-linked checklists and a checklist scroll wheel. Its software also features taxi routing and Garmin 3D SafeTaxi, designed to help pilots navigate airports with geo-referenced diagrams.

Additional safety features include flap airspeed protection monitors and a stick shaker, while the Perspective Touch+ system is said to enable ‘deeper integration of aircraft systems to increase pilot awareness of aircraft health’. The Cirrus IQ mobile app is also capable of checking for ‘key aircraft readiness items’ including maintenance, real-time status of fuel and oxygen levels, and aircraft flight hours.

To date, Cirrus has delivered nearly 10,000 aircraft since its inception in 1984. The company adds it has ‘aligned the flight deck, cabin experience and training programmes… to provide a clear progression from learning to fly and owning a SR Series aircraft, all the way through piloting your own Vision Jet’.

It seems as easy as the touch of a button – the all-new push button start, in fact, which ‘modernizes the G7 aircraft ignition’. Inside the cabin, the latest variant also benefits from increased legroom, an automatic fuel selector system, powered headset jacks, lighted high-power USB-C sockets and redesigned interior panels with ambient accent lighting.

And last but not least, ‘sturdy cup holders’ come as standard.
