The UK’s Civil Aviation Authority is reinstating its same day counter service. The service, which allows applicants to have their licence or certificate issued on the day, reopened at Aviation House, Gatwick Airport on July 4, 2022.
The agency also announced that ‘As part of improvements to our licensing services, applicants with a CAA portal account will now receive automated updates when the status of their application changes, providing visibility of their progress through the licensing process. Updates will be sent for all Flight Crew applications, regardless of how the applicant has applied (ie using a paper form, online form or eLicensing)’.
The booking line for the same-day service, which had been suspended because of the Covid pandemic, went live on 27 June. Full details of the services offered can be found on the CAA’s website.
