This year on the 27 May, Bank Holiday Monday, the Bidford Gliding and Flying Club is holding a Classic Wings and Wheels event in support of Acorns Children’s Hospices.
There will be a dedicated area on the airfield for classic cars and a similar fenced off area for resident and visiting aircraft. Already a number of car clubs have expressed an interest, together with the owners of some interesting aeroplanes.
At lunchtime the air park will be opened to the public so that people can have a close look at the aircraft and chat to their pilots. There’s going to be a bouncy castle for children, and a barbecue in the evening. Raffle prizes will include trial lessons in a motor glider and a sailplane.
