An online insurance service for aircraft owners, Visicover, has been shortlisted for the 2015 British Insurance Awards ‘Start Up’ award. Since its launch the company, which enables customers to select and pay for exactly the cover they require through its website, has built up a significant share of the UK GA market.

The British Insurance Awards category is restricted to companies which are fewer than three years of age and is designed to recognise those which have either identified and addressed a major market failing, used technology innovatively to improve service delivery, or otherwise significantly enhanced the customer experience.

Commenting on his company’s nomination for the award, Jan Houlberg, Visicover Managing Director, says: “We are absolutely thrilled to have made the short list for Start-up of the year. We set up Visicover.com because we felt aircraft owners deserved a better deal based on simple products, lower premiums and self-servicing, meaning they could manage their cover themselves online at a time that suited them.

“We have already received many testimonials from the thousands of owners who have tried the service over the past couple of years, so to now be recognised within the insurance industry as well is simply the icing on the cake.”

The 2015 British Insurance Awards ceremony will be held at the Royal Albert Hall in London on 8 July.
