Austro Engine passes the 1,000 mark for its 170hp AE300 turbocharged diesel
Austro Engine recently manufactured its 1,000th 170hp AE300 turbocharged diesel. Chief Executive Officer Jürgen Heinrich commented: “This AE300 symbolises a significant milestone, reflecting the engine series’ quality and reliability… For 2015 we are working on an extended power version delivering 180hp.” AE300s have logged more than 480,000 flight hours, returning a 45 % lower fuel burn than conventional piston aircraft engines running on Avgas, while producing significantly lower exhaust emissions and noise levels, Austro Engine claims.
