Coventry University is researching Loss of Control In Flight (LOC-I) and needs ATPL volunteers
For 55 years LOC-I has been the primary fatal accident category for all aviation sectors and all types of aircraft, around the world. Although accident rates for commercial jets have decreased over this period LOC-I continues to dominate the statistics.
Coventry University is hoping ATPLs of any experience level will spare two hours between June-August to support their prevention and recovery of LOC-I trials in their generic state of the art simulator (similar to an A320). All participants will receive a full pre-flight brief before flying a selection of scenarios in the safe, controlled fixed-base engineering flight simulator environment.

Trials will take place at Coventry’s Human in The Loop Laboratory (CHILL) located within the Engineering & Computing Building, Gulson Road, Coventry CV1 2JH, approx 15 minutes walk from Coventry railway station and ten miles south-east of Birmingham Airport. Free car parking is available adjacent to the facility.
