Alderney Airport’s three runways are expected to return to full operation within the next fortnight, following extensive work.
The repairs and improved drainage at the Channel Islands’ oldest airport mean the main asphalt strip and the longer of the two grass, crosswind runways are now open for visiting aircraft.
Work has also been undertaken on the short grass runway, which was closed last year because of poor condition of the surface. A further inspection will be made in early June, after which it is also expected to reopen.
