The Ultimate High UPRT Academy has announced the winner of the 2023 Rob Wildeboer UPRT Scholarship, an award established in honour of Goodwood Flying School’s late manager.

This year’s recipient is Jordan Hazrati, who holds a PPL and a MSc in Human Factors in Aviation, and currently works as a Human Factors specialist for a leading British airline. Noting her increasing awareness of “the safety risks associated with GA, and the need to upskill pilots to efficiently manage these,” Jordan added: “I have obviously been aware of Ultimate High’s reputation as the leading experts in UPRT so to be able to carry out this Flight Safety training with them is just awesome”.

Although applications were received from “a large number of worthy candidates,” Steve Johnson, Head of Training at Ultimate High explained how Jordan was selected for her “commitment and perseverance despite difficult circumstances, and her resilience and dedication to advancing her flying experience and skills”.

The scholarship was set up to honour the memory of Rob Wildeboer, former Goodwood Flying School Manager, described by Ultimate High’s CEO and Head of UPRT Programmes Mark Greenfield a “a wonderful man who was loved and appreciated by all who came into contact with him”. Rob passed away in 2021 but his legacy and passion for aviation live on, partly through a number of scholarships on offer annually.

Having flown to Goodwood Aerodrome on her first solo navigation and as part of her qualifying cross-country trip, Jordan is looking forward to returning there to complete her Upset Prevention and Recovery Training; a course also available to airlines, business jet operators, NAAs, ATOs, corporates and individuals.
