The UK’s “leading aviation, aerospace, and space charity” The Air League has launched its 2023 Engineering Scholarships, supported by Marshall Aerospace; “one of the largest privately owned, independent aerospace and defence companies in the UK”.

The scholarships include a two-week work placement at Marshall Aerospace, Cambridge City Airport, during which scholars will “conduct hands-on work on current projects and will shadow engineering and maintenance personnel”.

Applicants must be aged 18 or over on 1 June 2023 and hold a current Air League membership. Assistance with travel costs will be assessed on a case-by-case basis and full board accommodation for the duration of the scholarship is included. Describing their “vision to change lives through aviation,” the Air League note that “there should be no educational, financial, or social barriers for those who want to succeed”.

Two independent members of the scholarship selection committee will assess initial applications, after which successful candidates will be invited to a second stage interview; held virtually.

“The Marshall name has become synonymous with the aerospace industry, not least because of its long history of apprenticeships that has seen it launch the careers of over 20,000 apprentices,” note the Air League.

Applications close on Sunday 28 May 2023 and entrants will be notified of the outcome by 12 June 2023. For more information, and to apply, follow this link.
