Flight safety researchers at the University of Birmingham are looking for pilot volunteers aged 18 to 25, with five to 50 hours of SEP (Single Engine – Piston) flying experience to take part in simulator-based research. The experiments are designed to improve aircraft design and flight training.
The research sessions will take place between February and April 2023 and will last no more than two hours each. They will be conducted in the University’s Advanced Flight Simulator Laboratory based at the Edgbaston Campus, Birmingham (post code B15 2TT). The laboratory is a short walk (ten minutes) from the University’s own railway station (‘University’) and is only seven minutes by train from Birmingham New Street station.
Participation is purely voluntary in the interests of improving flight safety and places are offered on a first come, first served basis. Potential volunteers can register their interest by completing a two-minute online survey or by emailing Dr Mike Bromfield, Principal Investigator (m.a.bromfield@bham.ac.uk)
