American private equity fund Indigo Partners placed an order for 255 A321neo airliners on the opening day of the Dubai Airshow.
When Airbus’ head of international sales Christian Scherer was asked if the order meant the model was sold out he replied “the short answer is yes. But we are very flexible with our customers.”
This one order alone will create over two thousand pilot jobs in four separate countries. Indigo operates four low-cost carriers: US-based Frontier, Mexican carrier Volaris, Hungary’s Wizz Air and Chile’s JetSMART.
