Piper PA-22 Tri-Pacer

The Tri-Pacer is regarded as a classic aeroplane and was Pipers first production aircraft featuring a tri-gear. Between 1952 and 1960 over 7,000 were built with early models being powered by a 125-hp engine. This was considered underpowered for the four-seat tourer, and was replaced with a 160-hp engine. A tube constructed and fabric covered aircraft, it was considered easy to fly, but a short wing span gives this aircraft the gliding characteristics of a brick, especially at low speeds.
