Pathway (path2pilot.com) has a well-proven and completely Brexit-proof course that will maximise your ATPL results. They have industry leading reference materials and very experienced instructors who are mainly ex-pilots.
They offer residential, distance learning courses (including military fast track through ELCAS), licence conversions and ad-hoc instruction tailored to your budget with a personalised study plan to suit your needs.
Pathway (path2pilot.com) has taken steps to ensure that its current EASA ATO approval and courses will remain valid even if the UK CAA is ejected from EASA post Brexit and is opening a new exam centre in 2020 for both UK CAA and AustroControl exams.
For all EASA ATOs, the mandatory introduction of knowledge skills and attitudes (KSA100) training and assessments in ATPL ground training in mid 2020 is a separate issue for the near future. Pathway has gained CAA approval for its KSA100 training approach and will be issuing Completion Certificates for this new training. These KSA Certificates will be needed in addition to just passing the 14 ATPL exams for future commercial licence applications in all EASA states. To meet this requirement, Pathway has widened the scope of its ATPL classroom training and introduced practical skills training using external simulator resources and an assessment day involving classroom team exercises and mental maths.
The skills practical training in advanced instruments and consolidation in other subjects is done using a B737-800 sim which is under development. Please see website for more details.

FTA Global is a world-class commercial flight academy based at Brighton City Airport in the UK. They help students develop the skills, experience and confidence they need to become airline pilots.
The school offer ATPL Theory as a full-time residential course, which they deliver over nine months. Unlike no other ATPL programme in the UK, the instructor-led tuition is supported with the use of Padpilot’s eBooks and a computer-based (CBT) learning package that facilitates self-study.
The material is highly, visual and adds an additional dimension to the modular and integrated programmes. Guy Evans, FTA’s Deputy Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (DCTKI) was instrumental in introducing the changes to the programme, he says: “We are proud to launch a course like no other in the industry and our aim is to offer the single best ground school experience the industry has to offer”.
Phil Jones, Head of Training, adds: “The premise of these changes is to ensure that all students, regardless of their learning style, are happy, motivated and supported throughout their time at FTA Global.”

Caledonian’s Ground School is an opportunity to brush up on areas that are not best studied over a distance, or which need extra emphasis, or which may have changed at the last minute.
For example, PPL(H) holders typically will not have had exposure to autopilots, nav aids or EFIS. They also cover PPL – ATP for helicopters and aeroplanes.
In addition, it is also an opportunity to get used to the types of question being asked, and exam technique. They use their own notes, not those from any other source, in fact, other schools and organisations, such as Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Northern Lights College, Transport Canada and the Royal Air Force have used these notes.
They are also in the EASA and Transport Canada reference libraries. If you would like to look at some sample pages, you can download them from here.
