In 2012, White Waltham-based Stuart Grier set himself a personal challenge to visit as many airfields as possible within an hour’s flying time of his home base
Flying mainly Piper PA-28 club aircraft, between 8 March 2012 and 30 September 2016, Stuart managed to fly out to a grand total of 100 aerodromes and farm strips.
The list (in full below) includes everything from the ‘usual suspects’, airfields from Andrewsfield to Wellesbourne Mountford, to farms you might never have heard of.
While Stuart is not claiming any kind of record, we think this was an admirable achievement.
