As previously reported in Pilot’s Notes, the Temporary Danger Area at Syerston, which gives the Red Arrows Synchro Pair somewhere to practice, went ‘live’ in January.
The TDA is a circle with a radius of 5nm and centred on the Airfield Reference Point (ARP – N53 01.40 W000 54.70). It extends from the surface to 5,000ft amsl and its use is promulgated by NOTAM, although it is only used on weekdays, during daylight hours and within the following windows: 0830-0915, 1200-1245 and 1450-1530.
A Danger Area Crossing Service (DACS), Danger Area Activity Information Service (DAAIS) and Lower Airspace Radar Service (LARS) is provided by Waddington Zone on 119.500kHz, and information is available by telephone on 01522 727452.
