This year’s Wickenby Wings and Wheels will feature flying displays from the British Aerobatic Champion, Gerry Cooper, the famous ‘Captain Neville’s Flying Circus’ and The Matadors.
The organisers also hope to have the Spitfire and Hurricane from the BBMF and the SWIP team grace the event, which runs from 15 to 16 June.
But it’s not just about the aircraft – the event will include flights from large scale models and hot air balloons, as well as motoring attractions in the form of vintage cars and a tractor run.
Younger visitors will be kept entertained with rides, candy floss, Punch’n’Judy and other entertainment. Outdoor grub will be also on hand to keep everyone going.
And last, but not least, don’t forget the ‘Fun of the Forties Dinner Dance’ on 15 June at 6.30pm. Re-live VE day in an authentic 1940s marquee, a great backdrop for a live swing band and 1940s disco. There will be a hot carved buffet followed by strawberries and cream, and of course a bar and dance floor. Sunset flying displays from XA41 and the SWIP duo will take place, as well as charity fundraising activities – so don’t forget to bring money for the raffle.
