The 2013 Flying Show is the UK’s largest indoor flying event and it is an experience you shouldn’t miss out on.

The 2013 Flying Show – which takes place from 30 November until 1 December – is the UK’s largest indoor flying event and it is an experience you shouldn’t miss out on if you enjoy flying or would like to get started in aviation. A range of aviation sectors will be on represented, from gliders and microlights to autogyros and paramotors. On show there will be hundreds of products and aircraft, including new launches and creative designs.

Opening the show on Saturday morning, will be the ex Director General of the CBI and Minister of State for UK Trade & Investment, Lord Digby Jones.

The Fly2Pole team will be performing in their PulsRs. They are hoping to fly their microlights, piloted by injured ex-service personnel, to the South Pole in a year’s time. This is your chance to take a look at the kit they will need to survive in Antartica.

There will also be the Hosties 4 Heroes, airline cabin crew that raise funds for the Flying for Freedom charity. They’ll be there to support Fly 2 Pole and their expedition.

Lord Digby Jones will be launching the BMAA’s school’s build a plane project, straight after he opens the show. The BMAA will be working with Kinghurst Academy, Birmingham and the school’s students over the course of 18 months will be building a SkyRanger. The BMAA held a ‘think of a name’ competition and the students chose the name ‘New Horizons’ as their project’s title. Terry Viner and the BMAA’s flight sim team will be giving flights on there popular all-new, flex-wing flight simulator, which will definitely be worth checking out.

P&M are presenting a new Quick GTR explorer, these aircraft come dressed with travel bags and panniers to show how practical and rugged these mircrolights are. Whether its simply exploring the UK coastline or flying over the channel to experience the French alps, it’s a great idea to do it in this aircraft.

Navig Aero will be presenting the Dreamsoarer SSDR concept, which they claim to be a whole new kind of aircraft, stating “Radical architecture and polymorphing wings provide exceptional flying performance. The aircraft also presents a good ownership proposition, landing almost anywhere, sipping fuel, easily trailered/stored with a modest sticker price through manufacturing simplification”. You can come and talk to Ben Collins for a preview of the Dreamsoarer, especially if you are interested in investing or participating in the project.

Swift Aircraft will be showing a mock-up of their new light aircraft, The Swift, which was unveiled at the LAA Rally in the summer.

The first Spitfire from Enstone Flying Club’s Spitfire Squadron is now complete and will be on show; unfortunately it is not yet painted.

Flylight will be showing three aircraft including the Skyranger Swift 2, the newest version of the Skyranger using a lot of enhanced features of the Nynja to improve the visibility and aesthetics of the Skyranger Swift.

Red-Air will have the ever popular C42 on display. The aircraft has recently been approved as a glider tug and the company is expecting a substantial amount of interest from the gliding clubs that will be attending the show.

Reality Escapade 2, now from The Light Aircraft Company, will join the company’s existing Sherwood Ranger aircraft on their stand. They have revsed the Ranger kit package with a significant amount of components previously falling under extras. TLAC’s demonstration Escapade 2, the 2 seat enclosed cockpit aircraft will be on their stand and like the Sherwood Ranger will be available in both Microlight and Cat A.

Airbox are working on the biggest update of RunwayHD yet and they will be showing off a demo version of this new release at the show. This will feature advanced vector mapping, including airfield, town and airspace names; detailed worldwide vector airfield diagrams and much more.

The Gyrocopter Experience looks to have the largest area of the floor than any other standard this year. They will be feature: The Gyro Cinema, The Gyro Museum, The Gyro Lounge, The Gyro Shop, The Gyro Simulator and most importantly The Gyro Classroom.

The CAA will be there running a prize draw competition and will also be giving out infringement prevention guides. GASCo will be running their pre-flight inspection challenge and NATS will have radar replays of real life past infringements.

The LAA will be offering language proficiency validations and will feature superb Bristell aircraft on their stand.
