Aviation Engineering students pass with flying colours as new intake arrives
THE first intake of students from Brunel University have completed the flying component of their Aviation Engineering with Pilot Studies course. Flying from Wycombe Air Centre, the group of 22 students have completed the theory element of the NPPL syllabus as well as a minimum of 15 hours of flight instruction.Some of the students have continued further and gained the full pilot’s licence with several others expressing an interest in learning to fly. FI Katherine Nicholson is in charge of the organisation of the course at Wycombe. She said, “Weather has definitely been on our side since September. We’ve only had two days when flying was cancelled and this has helped amazingly towards the students’ progression.” The new intake for 2008/09 is due this month.
