Prince William gets his RAF wings

Following in his father’s footsteps, Flying Officer Wales has earned his RAF wings. Training at RAF Cranwell initially on the Grob, then at Linton on Ouse on the Tucano, he most recently flew the Squirrel helicopter at RAF Shawbury. It’s taken the future King just four months to complete the course – it usually takes four years.William’s training periods with the RAF and Navy are familiarisation attachments, aiming to prepare him for his future role at the head of the armed forces.
