The University of Nottingham has opened a �5.1million Aerospace Technology Centre.

The University of Nottingham has opened a �5.1million Aerospace Technology Centre.

The 2,000m� building, situated in the university’s Innovation Park, will house over 100 staff.

It forms part of Nottingham University’s Institute for Aerospace Technology, which brings together research groups working on subjects such as aerospace materials, electric aircraft, engines and propulsion, and aviation operations.

The university is currently involved with approximately seventy industrial aerospace projects, and its aerospace research portfolio amounts to around �50million.

Researchers within the Aerospace Technology Centre will work to develop new aerospace technology and ways to transfer knowledge from academia to industry.

It was opened yesterday by John Rishton, Chief Executive of Rolls-Royce – pictured above, to the right of Professor David Greenaway, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Nottingham.
