The IFD440 FMS/GPS/NAV/COM system is suitable for customers looking to upgrade their aircraft to meet Satellite-Based Augmentation Systems/Localizer Performance Vertical Guidance (SBAS/LPV) and Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) requirements.
It features flight planning with ‘one-touch’ victor airway and jet-route navigation, GeoFill waypoint navigation and Terrain Awareness and Alerting.
Additionally, the system includes a 10-watt, 8.33kHz, two-channel VHF communication radio, with an option for 16 Watts. The radio comes with automatic frequency nomination and four-channel VHF NAV/VLOC with automatic tuning, identification, and monitoring, and automatically decodes Active and Standby COM frequencies.
The IFD440’s flight management system meets TSO-C146c for full SBAS/LPV approach guidance.
The avionics also complies with AC20-165 for ADS-B position reporting.
