ASA and Aviation Performance Solutions (APS) have announced that they will provide upset prevention and recovery training (UPRT) to students at CAE Oxford Aviation Academy.
Student pilots will receive basic UPRT training, and have the option to take an upgrade programme. Instructors will go through a Professional Pilot UPRT program.
The training aims to teach pilots how to recognise, avoid and recover from stalls, aeroplane upsets and other unusual attitude situations. It is also designed to improve manual flying skills.
CAE and APS plan to offer the UPRT program to cadets and instructors at some CAE Oxford Aviation Academy ab initio flight schools – including Europe – this year. Its flight school in Mesa, Arizona, will provide the training from 2013.
The companies have previously provided UPRT training to CAE commercial and business aircraft clients, and have collaborated on an e-Learning course and an online simulator instructor tool.
