The CAA has announced the Safety Award finalists for 2006
A group of air traffic controllers who averted a serious accident after a single engine plane suffered engine problems at night; an airfield manager who, during the same incident, helped to bring the aircraft to land using the lights of his vehicle; and a helicopter instructor who freed a pilot from the wreckage of an aircraft have been selected as finalists for the Civil Aviation Authority’s General Aviation Safety Awards 2006. The winner will be announced on May 1.
