The PFA is changing its name.
The PFA is to change its name – assuming the AGM approves – to the Light Aircraft Association. One reason is, to quote the Vice- Chairman, ‘In a world where upbeat and modern is the expected norm, PFA has a rather fuddy-duddy feel’, and membership has been slowly declining. The change is also in recognition of the planned new European Light Aircraft category and Light Aircraft Pilot’s Licence, both of which are intended to make it easier and cheaper to fly light aircraft. Other new LAA (better get used to it) initiatives include focus groups for six different member segments, legal advice for members, aircrew photo ID, and a new enthusiast website
