Though the main Olympic airspace restrictions are scheduled to be withdrawn at midnight on 15/16 August, some restrictions will remain in place.

The restricted (R112) and prohibited (P111) zones will be withdrawn at 00:01 local time on 16 August.

However, R005 at the Weymouth sailing venues will remain in place until 18:00 local on 8 September. The restricted and prohibited airspace will then be replaced by a smaller set of restrictions, which will run until 12 September.

A smaller prohibited zone (P114) will centre on the Olympic Park, and two zones will also be in place over the rowing at Eton Dorney and the athletes’ village at Egham.

Temporary restricted airspace will also be put in over venues – such as Brands Hatch – which have not previously been subject to restrictions during the Games.

Additionally, the Danger Areas at Cardington (D206), Shoeburyness (D138) and Weston on the Green (D129), which have been closed for the Olympic period, will revert back to being active Danger Areas.
