NATS has developed a free iPad app showing live air traffic around the world.
Using ADS-B data from Flight Aware, but with the addition of real UK radar data, the NATS app promises users a new perspective on the skies above Britain.
Using the same data that air traffic controllers use, the 3-D view gives a sense of the relative altitudes of aircraft and the shape and size of the areas of controlled airspace in the UK.
Currently in beta, the iPad app can be downloaded from the UK Apple App Store. An iPhone version is in development.
