Three-day August event gathers pace with 44 aircraft registered
SCHEDULED for 15-17 August, the annual Moth Tour has released its final inventory for the 2008 event.Thethree-day event starts at Sywell on Friday 15 August at 0900, moving onto Bidford, RAF Cosford, Hucknall and Sherburn-in-Elmet.Saturday’s locations are Sherburn, Eddsfield, Pocklington, East Kirkby and returning to Sywell.Sunday should be a shorter day, with Shenington then lunch at White Waltham listed. Ron Gammons organises the event. He said, “The times are subject to weather and all sorts of things that affect old aeroplanes!“Afeature of the Tour ethos is that there is no form of competition, noprizes or any pressure on any participant to be at every stop or evento follow a set route. Nevertheless most do and have some excellentcamaraderie along the way.”Expectto see a variety of aircraft including the DH84 Dragon and DH90Dragonfly biplanes as well as Hornet, Leopard and Tiger varieties.
